Rooted and grounded

This photo was sent to me by a friend, and as such I have no idea who to credit for the photo!

However, this photo illustrates an awesome scripture, but first some back ground. The American soldier is being fired upon (I believe) and while the crowd is scattering the soldier is standing firm in the face of danger.

You see, his training is over riding his personal sense of danger. By standing firm, rooted and grounded, he is unknowingly providing a place of refuge, a cover for a little boy. The little boy, obviously has experienced gun fire before, and he also knows where true safety is - behind the well trained American soldier.

In Ephesians 3:17 we are told to be rooted and grounded in love - just like this soldier who is not moved by gunfire. Unwittingly he has provided safety to an innocent. How many people have you provided a safe refuge to by being rock solid, rooted and ground in Jesus Christ. the gas price is going crazy, stack markets are crashing, housing markets are a mess, food prices are rising, but you, being rooted and ground in Jesus are standing firm. Your confessions remain steadfast, and the same people that rejected you during times of prosperity rejected you, but when the bullets are flying they run to cover - behind you!

Remain steadfast, maintain your faith confessions, be the rock to so many that are going to cover behind you. You represent Christ to the world, when the world starts falling apart. That's why Paul said, be rooted and grounded. Don't let the world and your situation affect you, rather you affect the world. Imagine, if you will, a Christian church that stands strong in the face of adversity, faces danger head on - how many little boys would you be covering?

Strangely enough, I have never heard of soldiers fighting each other in times of war. The church could learn so mach from our brave soldiers. Why do we fight each other and not the real enemy? I tell you, it is due to a lack of discipline, poor training and poor leadership. Church, its time to get back into the Word, and stand strong!
